Things To Do ON A BUDGET

Things to doIts that time of the year again, school is out and you’re home for the holidays! So how do you spend time with friends and family without breaking the bank? Here are my tips on having a frugal, fun filled day!

1.Go see Christmas Lights

Okay this is probably a no brainer, but really! Grab your thermos and fill it up with some hot coco and head over to Nichols Hills or Yukon to see some beautiful lights! Pick a night that it’s not unbearably cold and walk around a little.

2.Decorate Cookies

Who doesn’t like Christmas cookies? Sugar cookies and icing won’t break the bank so go ahead, get sprinkles too

3.Make Ornaments

I love crafting! You can get either empty bulbs and fill them with things like glitter or you can buy wooden ornaments shaped like snowmen and candy canes and paint away!

4.Christmas Movie Marathon

Movies night is always a good idea and Christmas movies???? Even better.

5.At Home Spa Day

Why pay for a facial and manicure when you can do it at home? Invite some gal pals over and relax

6.Go To The Zoo!

In December? Yes. In OKC it has been in the 50s all week so why not get outside and enjoy this (oddly) nice weather! Plus the OKC zoo is buy 2 for 1 entry on Tuesdays!

7.Go to a Starplex Cinema Movie Theater

Starplex plays movies after they leave the theater but before they come out on DVD and the best part? It’s only $2 for a movie ticket! This is great for a date night that won’t leave you with an empty wallet

8.Build a Fort

Be a kid again, grab some sheets and make a fort! Then spend the day playing board games and watching movies

9. Top Golf

Okay this is one of my favorites if you go on week days before 6pm it’s only $20 to play for an hour and you can have up to 6 people! $20 for 6 people to play for an hour? Count me in every time!

10. Eat in

Go to your kitchen and cook dinner but only with what you have! This can be fun to do with the kids, be creative and try something new!

I hope these ideas were helpful! And once the holidays are over, if you’d like to learn how to manage your money there are some great tools that can help!
